Project Details

RCKT is a personal side project of mine that stemmed from a common need among web developers - the ability to integrate a CMS into a website. There's a million ways to install and work with a CMS. Many people choose WordPress or Wix, CodeIgniter or Laravel - and each has it's ups and downs.

With more "user-friendly" options like WordPress, you're stuck using their back-end system and building your entire website around their template structure. On the more advanced side of the spectrum you're custom-building a back-end dashboard. As your project grows, you're spending half of your time building the website, and the other half just trying to keep the CMS up to par with it.

The only connecting factor, and ergo solution - MySQL. Most frameworks integrate with some sort of MySQL database, so why not build an application that skips the website and connects to the data directly, providing a clean and intuitive user interface for your users to work with. RCKT (pronounced "rocket") gets you from A to B quickly, getting a custom CMS up and running in minutes.
